5 Party Themes Repurposing your Christmas Decorations
Christmas is one of the most expensive times of the year.
It can also be incredibly excessive. From Christmas decorations to gifts, celebrations and catering our financial budgets and the environment can really take a hit.
That’s why I am always on the lookout for ways to reuse or repurpose these items!
So, how can you reuse your Christmas decorations throughout the year? Birthday celebrations, baby showers, engagement parties, and even Easter are all perfect opportunities.
And, I have some ideas of course!
Here are my top five party theme ideas using your Christmas decorations…
1/ Easter Family Celebrations
Easter is a great time of the year to reuse your Christmas decorations.
Just a small tweak here and there could make all the difference! Here’s how to create a beautiful Easter experience in your home…
Simply repurpose the following items from your Christmas collection:
- Christmas Wreath
- Christmas Foliage
- Christmas Picks
- Christmas Tree
- Metallic Baubles
And add the following items:
- Easter bunny ornaments
- Pastel coloured baubles
- Easter egg hanging ornaments
- Sprigs of dried Bunny Tails
- Pastel berry picks
- Baby’s Breath florals
2/Woodland-Themed Baby Shower
Create a woodland wonderland in your home using your Christmas decorations!
You can even incorporate your Easter decorations by using the following items from both your collections:
- Christmas Wreath
- Christmas Foliage
- Christmas Picks and Red Berries
- Christmas Trees (borrow from family and friends to create a forest)
- Easter bunny ornaments
- Pastel coloured baubles
- Pastel berry picks
- Baby’s Breath florals
And add the following items:
- Woodland animal ornaments and toys (these could be found in your kids’ bedroom)
- Vases of wildflowers in yellow, purple, and white
- Paper butterflies (or use stickers)
- Red Toad Stools
- Natural elements including wood stumps, breadboards and even pinecones
- Copper twinkle lights
To create a more feminine look why not add in some fairies and mystical creatures in tiny fairy houses. And for a more masculine look, amp up the animal ornaments and toys, in particular bears and foxes.

5/ Christmas in July Themed Party
Of course, I couldn’t talk about party themes using Christmas decorations without talking about Christmas in July. This is an obvious one but had to be mentioned!
However, spice up your existing decorations using fresh and dehydrated fruits and herbs.
Gorgeous oranges dried out and strung across the room. Bowls of Australian winter fruits including red apples and lemons. Sprigs of Rosemary and eucalyptus, rolls of cinnamon and star anise.
For added texture and interest, add a variety of succulents around your foliage.
This theme would create a whole sensory experience with the aroma of all this gorgeous food plus it can be eaten afterwards!
No matter what the occasion, reusing your existing decorations is a wonderful way to decorate whilst saving money and your impact on the environment!
